Inventory System

This campaign is also a trial of card-based inventory management for heroic Hero System games.

In an effort to reduce the number of different statistics needed to be recorded by players and clear up the margins of character sheets, and given the expected frequency of equipment changes by player characters, all devices, weapons, and armour are recorded on physical cards.

The process of “gearing up” for an adventure is then a simple matter of agreeing who is taking what out of The Armoury and The Archival Vault. The players keep the reference cards for the items they are using until the end of the adventure, when they are returned to the armoury.

Some items (such as pieces of armour, and many devices) take up space on a characters body. The cards for items all show the Hero Guy with the slots taken up marked in red, to make it easy to tell what goes where and which slots are still free.
